September Remembered ~ A Message of Hope

On the anniversary of 9/11 please take a moment and watch Johannes’ video for September Remembered from his 2012 album Tales of a Gypsy. The song was actually composed days after the tragic events the changed the world. Johannes recalls, “Just one week before the planes hit the World Trade Center buildings, I was in New York City for a few performances. It was my first time in NYC and I remember looking at these two tall buildings – the Twin Towers – with awe from the top of the Empire State Building. It was my bandmate who called me up on the fateful morning a week later and told me to turn on the TV to watch the horrible news. I remember feeling shocked, horrified…The sense of my own mortality really hit me as all I could think about was the amount of death and lives lost in a single unexpected moment…and I pondered how if we had chosen to perform one week later we could well have been caught up in all the chaos, or possibly even died. Life is so fleeting, so fragile, and full of unexpected circumstances. One must be thankful, for every new breath and every new day is gift and a blessing. But too often we forget there is an expiry date attached to this gift, therefore live each moment correctly, with love, kindness, and gratitude.”
